We are the Zone Lead for western Kansas, and
first responders to disasters in our area. The
area covers approximately 20,508 square miles
with a population of 210,000. Because of the
vast area, transportation and communication
are essential pieces to delivering our relief
services.
Have brochures available to the public for information on safety during a disaster, how to prepare
for a disaster and after the disaster recovery tips.
The Garden City Chapter furnishes military emergency communication for our eighteen county areas.

We provide Lifeguard training and swim instruction for our
community public and private pools. Each county center has
that their instructors and lifeguards are trained and that the
pools are safe and healthy for the children in the community.

We provide training in CPR, First Aid, HIV/AIDS, Blood borne
pathogens, Workplace safety and Safe Family programs to the
expanded area of our jurisdiction.

Workplace modules offered: Your Heart Matters, Ergonomics,
Slips Trips & Falls, Back Injury Prevention, Workplace Violence
Awareness, Managing Stress.

New program offered: Family Care Giving.
Master of Disaster program offered for youth age children.

We give CPR/FA training for a class at GCHS each semester and offer tips through the GC
Telegram on child safety at Halloween, Christmas safety, etc.
